However, from our highly successful experience of IT in production and administration management we knew that an IT solution capable of designing and documenting cable installations and making the optimum choice of cables would make life easier both for our customers and ourselves. And with NKTdoc® we really do have a valuable support tool, not least because it eliminates errors, says Peter Wennevold.
NKTdoc® is the product of a partnership between NKT Cables and DPS Cad-center ApS. NKT Cables had created a small program capable of calculating cable cross-sections, etc., while DPS Cad-center had developed PCschematic®, a program for documenting electrical installations. By combining the two, we created NKTdoc®, which can both calculate and document cable installations. It took around 18 months to develop NKTdoc®, which was first launched in 2001.
