Developed with sound specialistsSome people believe that there is a link between a vacuum cleaner’s suction power and the noise from its motor. “But this is not the case,” stresses Group Product Manager Anders Uttersav. “Over the years we have worked intensively to find ways to reduce the noise from our machines. Now, in our new, top of the range vacuum cleaner we have cut the sound level to just 46 dB - equal to the "noise" level of a typical conversation.
“The developmental breakthrough was achieved with assistance from specialists in optimised acoustics and sound engineering. This has now resulted in a commercially viable solution to the noise problem - ie. a solution that can be technically mass-produced and that is attractively priced.”
Anders Uttersav also points out that, although motor noise from existing Nilfisk vacuum cleaners is way below the risk threshold for hearing impairment, it is a fact that when vacuum cleaning is in progress other tasks often have to take second place.
