“NKT has taken part in many groundbreaking projects. This has given us a special interest in ensuring that the cables we have produced and have subsequently installed in the electricity network are always in good working order.
“Among other things, we carefully document everything concerning our cable installations in the Danish electricity network. We know precisely when and how our cables were manufactured, and we have charted exactly where they have been installed – on land, in the air and under water.
”Our records go back to the 1950s – sometimes even further. Such records are vital – not least for the simple reason that the service life of our cables spans several generations,” says Sven Salwin.
