Prepared for the next 100 yearsPublished on 27 February 2006
Today, Monday 27 February, is the centenary of Nilfisk-Advance, and all the general managers of the Group’s 53 companies worldwide are holding a reception to mark the occasion.
Most of the undertakings that saw the light of day one hundred years ago, when electricity paved the way for the industrial age, share a common bond - they started from small beginnings and grew by the drive, ambition and vision of a single individual.
The list of Danish entrepreneurs from those days is long. One of them was also the founder of Nilfisk-Advance, Peter A. Fisker. A trained electrical engineer, he saw potential in starting a production of electric motors for powering different types of machinery. With its motor as the key component, Peter A. Fisker’s vacuum cleaner developed into a global success - under the brand name Nilfisk.
