Early each year the world’s leading manufacturers, innovators, specialists and users in the fields of fibre optics, opto- and semiconductor technology and micro- and nanotechnology gather together at Photonics West, a major conference and exhibition held in San Jose, California.
“Attending Photonics West is a must if you are looking to be global leader in your field,” says Søren Isaksen, who as Group Executive Director and CTO of NKT Photonics was therefore on NKT’s team at this year’s event just ended.
The 17,570 international visitors at Photonics West 2008 had a choice of no fewer than 85 conferences and 3,200 presentations and talks, as well as the option of networking in the exhibition areas where new products were on display from 1,200 companies.
Crystal Fibre, a maker of microstructured optical fibres (crystal fibres), KOHERAS, which markets fibre lasers for measuring and monitoring equipment, and LIOS Technology, which develops sensor-based temperature monitoring systems, all represented NKT Photonics Group at Photonics West.
