NKT stands for “Nordisk Kabel og Tråd”. Founded by Hans Peter Prior in 1891, NKT Cables is still part of the NKT Group. NKT is today a listed company with around 9,000 employees worldwide and an annual turnover running into billions of kroner. The Group operates within four core business segments: Power cables, Cleaning equipment, Optical components/products and Flexible offshore pipelines.

Nilfisk
Nilfisk Nilfisk was founded in 1906 by Peder Andersen Fisker. For most Danes, Nilfisk is quite literally a household name because Nilfisk vacuum cleaners were to be found in almost every Danish home as long ago as the first half of the 20th century. Nilfisk, now called Nilfisk-Advance, is a global enterprise with sales units all over the world. Nilfisk-Advance became part of the NKT Group in 1989.

LK
LK stands for “Lauritz Knudsen”. Founded by Lauritz Knudsen in 1893, LK is particularly famous for its plugs, switches and lamps. The company has also had international success with its IHC intelligent control system for domestic power and heating. LK became part of NKT in 1990 and a new international strategy was established. In 1999 LK was sold to the French energy group Schneider Electric headquartered in Ballerup, Denmark.
