Corporate Social Responsibility is an integrated part of NKT's business philosophy. NKT supports e.g. UN Global Compact and moreover, has a tradition of contributing to activities for the common good primarily within areas related to the Group's business and its business areas.
NKT provides competencies in board's work
Selected NKT managers are trained in professional board's work within the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority initiative 'Bestyrelsespartnerskaber' (Board Partnerships). The aim being that smaller growth companies with the need of a professional board or mentor could benefit from be matched with the competencies of the trained managers.

NKT runs a heritage collection
NKT also runs a museum of industrial history called 'Elektroteket, in Brøndby, close to Copenhagen, Denmark. The heritage collection is an insight into the history of NKT through more than 110 years and it covers the electrification and industrialisation in 20th century Denmark. The museum contains collections from NKT Cables, Nilfisk-Advance and LK (Lauritz Knudsen), that was part of the NKT group from 1990 to 1999. The collections are continuously updated. Also new breakthroughs within advanced laser equipment, cable recycling, flexible pipelines for deep-see application and industrial vacuum cleaners are disposed in the hall.
The heritage collection artefacts are kept in repair and renovated by former NKT employees, who meet in the museum once a week. They also give a hand when social events or meetings are held in the appurtenant conference facilities.
